HWA Ambulance Flag off

On 2nd October, Gandhi Jayanthi day, HWA Ambulance flag off ceremony was held at Gandhi park, MG road, Bengaluru. The flag off was done by Honorouble Mr. Bhaskar Rao, ADGP ,Ex- commissioner of Bengaluru Police. HWA Director Taha Matheen also addressed the crowd.

Our story of procuring the Ambulance and your role in it

During the difficult times of the second wave of covid-19, the need for a fully equipped ambulance was high. Many well-wishers and HWA volunteers took up the cause and  contributed by helping raise funds through their friends and family circles. Collective small amounts became large amounts, the drive resonated with many and support received was immense. In a month’s time, we had enough funds ready with Rs. 23,06,500/- raised.

With this amount we were able to buy a Force ambulance worth Rs.16 lakhs and a fully equipped interior worth Rs. 7 lakhs-  with freezer, provision for 2 oxygen cylinders, provision for ICU, all facilities required for outstation/long travel with patient. There are  facilities for conducting medical camps , safety features and more.

The ambulance service inaugurated on 2nd of October 2021- Gandhi Jayanthi day, would truly be a boon to the common man, marginalized people, and the destitute.

This would not have been possible without the direct contributions from 306 kind hearted donors and the rest of you who helped in spreading the word.

First Ambulance Service

In his address to the gathering, Dr. Taha Matheen, the Director of HWA had mentioned , “this ambulance should not be kept idle.  It should always be on the move in service of the society“.

True to that, our team received a call during the flag off program itself to take a body to Nilambur, Kerala. Immediately, our ambulance driver – Mufassil, got behind the wheel . By 10 pm night, they reached Nilambur.
